Perché Ci Credo - Homemade Tomato Sauce - Italy
Three ingredients: tomatoes, basil, and salt. That's all it takes for this bottle of tomato sauce to be the best thing you've put on your pasta in a long time. The flavors of the Apulian tomatoes are citrusy, deep, and juicy. The label suggests to add it to your 'soffritto' (diced onions, carrots, and celery), combine it with cooked pasta and fry for three minutes, then serve, which we did and loved. But it's also just great on its own! Perché Ci Credo creates sauces that are true to Puglia, where they are based, and which express the abundance and flavors of the local vegetables. It's wonderful to take it back to basics and really taste the terroir of the region. Instead of going out for Italian, you'll want to stay home and cook.
